We shot Amanda & Michael’s Boston Exchange Conference Center Fish Pier Wedding the last weekend of May in 2013 . Memorial Day weekend is always an extremely popular time to have a wedding. In 2014 I booked a Saturday on that weekend 20 months before the actual wedding, crazy! Amanda & Michael stand out as some of my nicest clients of the year. We got along great within the first few minutes of meeting them. On their wedding day they both got ready in separate rooms at the Renaissance Hotel, and then headed to the beautiful Cathedral of the Holy Cross in the historic South End of Boston. After the ceremony, we got into a Duck Boat for a tour around the city with the Bridal Party, include taking a dip into the Boston Harbor while Amanda and Michael took turns driving. Our tour guide had a great sense of humor, and informed us of all the well and lesser known historical facts of the city. We got back to the Exchange Conference Center towards the end of cocktail hour, and after a couple of speeches we headed outside for family, bridal party, and bride and groom photos. The light was perfection, and despite the location being extremely windy, the photos came out great! For spring and summer weddings, planning to take your photos later in the day often results in better photographs because the light become softer as the sun sets (aka: the “golden hour”). We ended the session with a large format camera photo and headed in to dance the night away with dueling piano team Howl at the Moon. They were taking requests all night and knew how to play almost anything Amanda and Michael’s guests threw at them. We had an awesome time with these guys and can’t thank them enough for being so welcoming and easy to work with on their wedding day!
