I started my photography education in my early teens, around the same time that I started building computers and tinkering with photoshop. In middle school I was able to take a darkroom photography class. I was hooked. The potential to see how the world translated into film was something I could not stop thinking about. I went home after the first class and had my mom pull out her Pentax K1000 35mm camera to experiment with all the possibilities of photography and I haven’t looked back since. We acquired a digital camera when I was in highschool, and I maintained my visual learning both through photography and the digital arts. Eventually I realized I wanted to attend the Art Institute of Boston for my BFA in photography. Being there allowed me to study with some amazing artists; I interned at the Polaroid 20×24 camera studio in New York City for a summer; I shot weddings with a variety of studios each summer. I continue to document life outside of weddings. I gravitate towards documenting the lives and stories of the people I meet.
Going into art school I never considered wedding photography to be my field after graduation, but it makes perfect sense. It brings together my love of people and photography in a way no other genre does.
Weddings are full of emotions, and I am there to reduce stress and put you at ease with my expertise in wedding events. I have photographed over 300 weddings and equipped to deal with anything we may come up against. From putting on a boutonniere to bustling a dress, I’m not kidding when I say I’ve seen it all. I often find that while I’m photographing at a wedding, guests ask me how long I have known the bride & groom. I love to hear this! Typically I have only met the couple a few times previous to their big day, but it lets us know that everyone is comfortable and having a great time, and making both their wedding day and images a success!
